About Rearing Resilience
Hi! I’m Lauren Peabody.
Thank you for being here.
What does the “about” page actually mean? What am I supposed to write? Honestly I’m not sure. By cultural standards I guess I’m supposed to tell you about my career. I am a therapist and teacher. I own, operate, teach and practice therapy at a small clinic in Michigan. I also work in schools coaching teachers (some of the most amazing men and women in the world) on how to best teach kids who struggle in the classroom. My little slice of therapy heaven is Nurture Family Center. I love my job! I am grateful for and oftentimes in wonder of the strong humans who come sit on the couch to share their lives with us at Nurture. I work with a wide range of people, but have a strong passion for parenting and the incredible Mom’s and Dad’s who foster and adopt. I am a mental health advocate and feel that all of us could have a little therapy in our lives.
The center and core of who I am lies within my relationships. I am the partner of my best friend, Brandon, who I adore and at times want to throw things at. I am the mother of 3 children who bless, yet challenge me every day to grow. I am a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, in-law and friend.
Thank you again for visiting Rearing Resilience and please feel free to contact me if you want to chat about anything…parenting, mental health, therapy, the weather, whatever.
The Rearing Resilience Blog
In my secret inner world, I have dreamed of being a writer. Not so secret is my passion for parenting, mental health and resilience. During one of the craziest times I have experienced in my life, the Coronavirus Pandemic, I decided to practice the vulnerability that I preach. I plan to share my thoughts, experiences and lessons from the perspectives of both Mom and Therapist (my kids think it is so annoying that I am a therapist by the way). Here I hope to combine my desire to write, with the content I have been teaching for years. You will find research-based posts on many topics. So here you are, and here I am. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of this journey. Welcome.
